Dear Friends,
God bless you, your loved ones and your ministries this week!
This October I have been painting on site at two Amish farms. What a blessing! The first farm is owned by a man who is recently widowed. He wept and said, "You never know what you have until it's gone." He welcomed me and brought his cows closer by spreading hay on the other side of the fence, then calling to the cows in German. They came running with their udders swinging from side to side. I wonder if they understand English?
The other farm is owned by a family with six children. The oldest is in sixth grade and the youngest is two. There are 5 boys and one girl. The kids love to watch me paint and when I drive up in my car, all six kids come running, to my great delight. They are very curious and polite. They explain their way of life to me and in return I teach them about oil painting.
I am grateful to be an artist in October in beautiful Maple Valley surrounded by wonderful people.
Love, Sue
