Dear Friends,
God bless you, your loved ones and your ministries today!
Did you ever feel God's touch in your life when you were down?
OMGosh! I was crying yesterday from an accumulation of unfortunate events that were beyond my control. Then a thought came into my head to call the Office of the W. MI Annual Conference and ask if there were a room where I could display my painted prayers for Haiti. I was directed to Valerie Mossman-Celestin and after about 2 sentences, I knew that God brought us together!
She works with an organization called Haitian Artisans for Peace International (HAPI) who empowers the men, women and children of a small mountain community to make better lives for themselves through their creativivty. You can look them up on the web. It's an amazing project started and run by the people of the community with encouragement from Americans. HAPI is an Advanced Special of the United Methodist Church.
Valerie asked me a magic question: did I want to teach art in Haiti? OMGosh! She lit a fire under me that has me hopping! I don't know how God will make this happen, but I can't wait to see it unfold!!!
I'm off to be a substitute teacher for a 6th grade class this morning with renewed hope in my heart!
Love, Sue
